Hallo,
Ik ben onlangs vanuit Spanje in Nederland aangekomen. Ik ben met mijn fiets uit Spanje gekomen die meer dan 1200 km aflegt. geen probleem.
Nu ben ik in Utrecht, blijkt dat twee dagen geleden had ik een ongeluk met mijn fiets de domste in deze stad, en ik denk dat ik de pols (of een pols bot), en een rib gebroken. Ik ging naar verschillende openbare ziekenhuizen in Utrecht en ze wilden me € 470 !!! in rekening brengen, gewoon voor de huisarts en met mijn Europese gezondheidskaart vond ik het een hoop geld en deed ik niets. Ik heb 3 dagen met vreselijke pijn in de hand en de pols die ik erg opgezwollen heb, het enige dat ik neem zijn Paracetamol-tabletten om pijn te verlichten, maar toch is het ondraaglijk, ik denk dat ik een gebroken pols heb.
Alsjeblieft, ik wilde weten waar ik naar een dokter, een ziekenhuis of een gezondheidscentrum kon gaan, waar ze me niet een bepaald bedrag vragen zonder iets te doen. Alle hulp of advies helpt me.

Er staat dat hij in Utrecht is en een ziekenhuis of doctor zoekt waar je niet een bedrag ineens hoeft te betalen. Ben zelf niet bekend met Utrecht.

Tja, Nederland is inderdaad geen Spanje (waar de gezondheiszorg voor de bewoners [nog] geheel gratis is...).

Nog niet zo heel lang geleden ging in Nederland veel van de gezondsheidszorg "op de schop" omdat de kosten de pan uit rezen/rijzen. Het zal wel een kwestie van tijd zijn voordat iets soortgelijks ook van de spaanse burgers in Spanje gevraagd en verwacht word.

Je schrijft een "Europese gezondheidskaart" te hebben getoond, die is alleen voor spoed eisende hulp/NOODgevallen! Én alleen geldig als je in je thuisland --of het EU land waar je op dat moment ingeschreven en woonachtig bent-- óók een geldige ziektekosten verzekering hebt!

Misschien begrijp ik je verkeerd, maar in ziekenhuizen werken doorgaans géén huisartsen maar specialisten.

Drie dagen met een vermoedelijk gebroken pols doorlopen om (tijdelijk) € 470 uit te sparen lijkt mij ook niet zo handig (...). Weet je zeker dat je al je verzekeringen, opzeggingen en (nieuwe) aanmeldingen daarvan goed geregeld hebt?!

The first of all is to doing a Radiography in order to see if I have any bone broken, not to pay for see a doctor. And the Radiography cost money too. So, Maybe all the medical assistance cost me almost 1000€. It is not normal and I think is a very lot of money.

They should not be to charge money for medical assistance in European Countries. The problem is that here and now I have only my Insurance Card of Spain,and I think is not valid.
I called to my insurance in Spain and they say me that is possible to ask for a refund of money when I come back to Spain, and I think is the best thing to doing.

Yup I think you have to pay for health care while in another country - just like we all have too. Through your home insurance, travel insurance or other arrangements you might or not might have taken care off. Maybe you should read the above link you yourself gave. If you're really injured go see a doctor and get well soon!

When you visit an emergency room ("spoedeisende hulp") in the hospital the cost will indeed be several hunderd euro's!

In this case it is better to go to a nearby general practitioner ("huisarts") and ask I they can see you instead; you will have to pay a fee of around €30 since you are not a regular patiënt ("passant").

They can then refer you to the radiology department of the local hospital who will make an X-ray for around €40-50. They usually tell you the result immediately and if it is really broken they will send you to the ermergency room after all for treatment.

In any case; save all the receipts because maybe you will get some money back from your insurance when you are back in Spain.

Maybe you can see a general practicioner (huisarts) first. Pick just any one. I guess they won't charge you that much.

That is that explain me this morning in the University Hospital Centrum of Utrecht(UHC) There are Family Doctors (Huisartsenpraktijks) that cost only 20-30€ for a visit, on the contrary I have to pay a lot of money ,in the UHC ,300€ for to see a doctor and more for to doing a Radiography and so on. (About all of this told me nothing in the other Hospital that I visit first).

That the University Hospital don't told me is that the Radiography cost only 40-50€, in the Hospital said me 300€. I will try to doing it for less.

In any case thank you very much for the help,and yes, I will save all the Invoices. Today I only had time to visit 2 Family Doctors, but they were closed, I will come back tomorrow. I will tell later how result everything.

Hallo,
I have resolved all this situation by the moment.
I went a Family Doctor and a Physiotherapist of a Medical Center in Utrecht.The Doctor costed only 28€, and the physiotherapist 45€, and the Radiography in a General Hospital costed 40€.

Afourtanetly , I have not any bone broken, if not a violent sprain,a twist of my wrist , with the ligaments of the muscle are broken because of the fall.Also I have two ribs folded inside. The ribs heal by itself.
For the wrist the physiotherapist put me a wristband to limited the movement of the wrist. The attention of the physiotherapist was very nice.

The accident was caused by the tyres of my bike, the Bontrager AW1 Hard Case Lite that takes my bike Trek 520 Disc.They are very good tyres, but have the problem that sometimes slide in a dangerous way , in this case the tyres slipped with only the 3 cms.of the curb of a sidewalk when normally did not so. In three years that I use this tyres only remember slide in a wet sidewalk but without consequences. I think that I' m going to change them for the Schwalbe Marathon Mondial Evo Touring or others similars rather by a security question.
