Vereniging De Wereldfietser, operating internationally as The Dutch Cycle Touring Association, is a Dutch association for long-distance cycle travellers with more than 4.400 members. Our members undertake multi-day and long-distance cycling journeys throughout the Netherlands, across Europe and around the world — from weekend tours to journeys of many months.
The association celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. We publish a professionally produced magazine four times a year, organise cycling tours in the Netherlands and abroad, offer courses and workshops, and host an annual festival for cycle travellers that attracts thousands of visitors.
In addition, the association represents the collective interests of long-distance cycle travellers in the Netherlands. Important themes include improving international bicycle transport by train, strengthening bike-and-rail connections, and promoting better opportunities for travelling with bicycles by long-distance coach and bus services.
